Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Tim Mehigan is an eminent scholar of German and Comparative Literature. He has won international recognition for his ground-breaking studies of the works of Heinrich von Kleist and Robert Musil. Professor Mehigan succeeds in characterizing Kleist and Musil as two pivotal figures of literary modernism whose influence radiates far beyond the German-speaking world. They also serve as a point of departure for Professor Mehigan's highly innovative investigation into the complex relationship between literature and philosophy. Furthermore, Professor Mehigan has managed to expose literary writing as a specific mode of philosophical reflection. In Germany, Professor Mehigan will engage in a collaborative project that focuses on the political and philosophical dimensions of the works of Heinrich von Kleist. |
